This Privacy Policy describes how KK Ventures LLC, doing business as SafePawz ("SafePawz," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use our mobile application and services (the "Platform"). By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and information collected automatically when you use the Platform.

1.1 Information You Provide

- Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and profile photo

- Profile Information: Bio, location (city, state), service areas, availability, and home address for sitters offering boarding services

- Pet Information: Pet names, breeds, ages, weight, photos, and spay/neuter status

- Pet Health: Vaccination status, medications, allergies, medical conditions, and veterinarian contact information

- Pet Behavior: Personality traits, energy level, behavioral concerns, and care instructions

- Emergency Contacts: Backup contacts for your pets in case you cannot be reached

- Identity Verification: Government-issued ID submitted through Stripe Identity for owner verification

- Sitter Certifications: Pet care certifications, training credentials, and experience documentation submitted by sitters

- Payment Information: Credit/debit card details from owners for service payments, and bank account details from sitters for payouts (all processed securely by Stripe)

- Tax Information: For sitters, Stripe collects Social Security Number or tax ID as required for payout compliance and tax reporting

- Communications: Messages sent through our in-app chat and support inquiries

- Reviews and Content: Reviews, ratings, and report card photos you submit

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

- Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version

- Usage Information: Features accessed, actions taken, and session duration

- Location Information: With your permission, we collect precise GPS location for finding nearby sitters. Location is collected in the foreground only for search features.

- Service Location Tracking: During dog walks, sitters grant background location access to record the walk route. Routes are shared with owners after the service is complete and retained for 18 months.

- Crash and Diagnostic Data: Device type, app version, and error traces to help us fix bugs and improve stability

1.3 Information from Third Parties

- Stripe: We receive verification status (verified/not verified) for owner identity checks. ID document images are processed by Stripe and not stored by SafePawz.

- Checkr: We receive background check status (clear/consider) for sitters. SafePawz does not store SSN, criminal record details, or the full background report—only the status result.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide, improve, and secure our services.

2.1 Provide Services

- Create and manage your SafePawz account

- Match pet owners with sitters based on location and preferences

- Facilitate bookings, payments, and communication between users

- Send booking confirmations, reminders, and important updates

- Provide customer support

2.2 Safety and Improvement

- Verify user identities to maintain platform trust

- Detect and prevent fraud and policy violations

- Analyze usage to improve the Platform

- Enforce our Terms of Service

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below.

3.1 With Other Users

- Your first name, profile photo, bio, and general location are visible to other users

- When a booking is confirmed, owners and sitters can see information necessary to complete the service

- Sitters can view pet profiles for pets they are confirmed to care for

- Reviews are associated with your first name and profile photo

3.2 With Service Providers

- Stripe: Payment processing and identity verification for owners. Stripe's privacy policy governs their use of your data.

- Checkr: Background check services for sitters who consent

- Firebase/Google Cloud: Cloud infrastructure and database hosting

- Expo: Push notification delivery

- Sentry: Crash reporting and error monitoring to help us fix bugs

3.3 For Legal Reasons

- To comply with applicable laws or legal processes

- To protect the rights, safety, or property of SafePawz, our users, or others

- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice to you)

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We and our third-party service providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve the Platform.

4.1 What We Use

- Essential Cookies: Required for the website to function (e.g., session management, security)

- Analytics Cookies: We use Squarespace's built-in analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website (pages visited, session duration, referral source). This data is aggregated and not tied to your identity.

- Third-Party Services: Services like Firebase and Sentry may collect diagnostic and usage data through their SDKs as described in Section 3.2.

4.2 Your Choices

-You can adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Note that blocking essential cookies may affect website functionality.

-You can opt out of Squarespace analytics by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser settings.

We do not use cookies for targeted advertising or sell cookie data to third parties.

5. Advertising

We do not sell your data or display third-party ads.

- We do not sell your personal information to advertisers

- We do not display third-party advertisements in the app

- We may send you promotional emails about SafePawz services (you can unsubscribe anytime)

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your information while your account is active and as needed for legal and business purposes.

6.1 Retention Periods

- Account and profile data: Retained while your account is active

- Walk routes and GPS data: Raw points retained for 30 days; route summaries retained for 18 months

- Report card photos: Retained for 18 months

- Booking history and messages: Retained while your account is active, and for 90 days after deletion for dispute resolution and safety

- Payment records: Retained for 7 years as required for tax compliance

- Identity verification: Status retained; ID documents processed by Stripe (not stored by SafePawz)

- Background check: Status retained; full report stored by Checkr (not by SafePawz)

6.2 Account Deletion

- You can delete your account through the app settings

- Deletion removes your profile, pets, and personal information

- You cannot delete your account while you have active bookings or pending payouts

- Some data may be retained as required by law (e.g., payment records for tax purposes)

7. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information.

7.1 How We Protect Your Data

- All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS)

- Sensitive information (email, phone, address) is stored separately from your public profile

- Payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS certified provider

- We use Google Cloud infrastructure with built-in security protections

7.2 Your Responsibilities

- Keep your login credentials confidential

- Use a strong password

- Contact us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account

8. Your Rights and Choices

You have control over your personal information.

8.1 Access and Update

- View and edit your profile information in the app at any time

- Update your pet information whenever needed

8.2 Delete Your Account

- Delete your account through the app settings, or email info@safepawz.co

8.3 Notifications

- Manage push notification preferences in the app

- You cannot opt out of essential booking and security notifications

8.4 Location

- Control location access through your device settings

- Disabling location may limit features like finding nearby sitters

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable state privacy law.

9.1 Washington State Residents

If you are a Washington state resident, you have the following rights under the Washington My Health MY Data Act and Washington Privacy Act:

- Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you

- Right to Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate personal information

- Right to Deletion: Request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions

- Right to Data Portability: Receive your data in a portable format

- Right to Opt Out: Opt out of the sale of personal information or its use for targeted advertising (note: we do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising)

9.2 Other State Residents

Residents of California, Colorado, Virginia, and other states with applicable privacy laws may have similar rights as described above. We will honor valid privacy rights requests regardless of your state of residence.

- We will respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will notify you of an extension (up to 45 additional days)

- We may need to verify your identity before processing your request

- If you disagree with our response, you may appeal by replying to our decision email

10. Children's Privacy

SafePawz is not intended for users under 18 years of age.

- You must be at least 18 years old to create a SafePawz account

- We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18

- If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at info@safepawz.co and we will delete it

11. Third-Party Links

Our Platform may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services (such as maps or payment processing). We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their privacy policies separately.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes

through the app or email. The "Last Updated" date above indicates when the Policy was last

revised. Continued use of the Platform after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
